NMR – This track has all the right bits in the right places, some great guitar work wrapped around a solid groove with a hyper catchy chorus melody, something sadly lacking in a lot of music at the moment, this song ebbs and flows nicely, I have nothing else to say except ….dont miss out.

Really Big Really Clever – I can’t argue with that !

Brighton alt-rockers really big really clever have dropped another preview of their highly anticipated (and cheekily titled) upcoming album, ‘…huh’. Their latest single, ‘the middle’, dives deep into emotional territory, exploring themes of identity, expectation, and the inner conflict that often comes with close personal connections.

“‘the middle’ explores the emotional strain and evolving expectations that can often come from personal connections,” the band explains. “It reflects on the painful realisation that, despite your best efforts, you may never be able to become the person you think you want to be. The song captures the internal conflict of losing yourself in the process and ultimately speaks to the journey of reclaiming your identity—learning to recognise, avoid, and move on from situations that demand you to be someone you’re not.”

Musically, ‘the middle’ showcases the band’s signature sound—gritty, off-kilter alt-rock with punchy riffs, raw energy, and hook-laden melodies. It follows their previous release, ‘back door’, a chaotic and electrifying track that accompanied the announcement of the new record.

About the album ‘…huh’

‘…huh’ is the follow-up to the band’s acclaimed 2023 self-titled debut. Recorded and produced in Whitstable during Spring 2024 with long-time collaborator Ian Sadler, the new album will be released on 22nd August 2025 via Sugar-Free Records.

UK Tour Announced

To celebrate the release, really big really clever will hit the road across the UK in late August and September, bringing their explosive live energy to a city near you. Known for their gripping stage presence, the band has previously toured with acts like Tigercub, Sweet Pill, Have Mercy, and Church Girls, and have received support from BBC Introducing, The Modern Rock Show, and Spotify playlists like Today’s Punk and Hot New Bands.
