About Myles Cochran:
Myles Cochran is an American composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Born and raised in Kentucky, Myles was later based in New York City and now makes his home in the UK.
Album Details:
“You Are Here” follows his 2021 UK debut release, “Unsung.” The album features lilting pedal steel alongside dusty stand-up bass, soaring cellos, and Cochran’s myriad acoustic and electric guitar flourishes, with a splash of electronic production. It blends twang, jazz, folk, and chamber elements.
Influences:
“Roots and country music were in the air when I was growing up, and they still shape my aesthetic. My love of improvised music, from Talk Talk to Soft Machine, also informs what I do, and guitarists like John Renbourn, John Fahey, and Bill Frisell have made a deep impact. These aren’t disparate influences but make beautiful sense together.” — Myles Cochran
Other influences include the minimalism of Steve Reich and the dub excursions of Lee Perry, creating a truly unique and beautiful musical whole.

Production Credits:
The tracks for “You Are Here” were composed, performed, and recorded by Myles at his studio in rural east Devon, UK, and mastered by Tom Borthwick (SI Studios, Old Forge, PA). The album features notable guest performances by Michelle Packman (cello) and Reggie Jones (upright bass).
With the release of “You Are Here,” Myles Cochran is poised to cement his name as one of the premier guitar innovators currently working in the UK.
Myles has received airplay across the UK, including from luminaries such as Gideon Coe on BBC6 Music and Elizabeth Alker and Lopa Kothari on BBC Radio 3. Aside from praise across the board for his solo work, Myles has also found acclaim for his collaboration with Irish singer Bróna McVittie as co-producer and steel guitarist. You Are Here features lilting pedal steel alongside dusty stand-up bass, soaring cellos and Cochran’s myriad acoustic and electric guitar flourishes, with a splash of electronic production alongside twang, jazz, folk, and chamber elements.🌐 Learn more at: www.mylescochran.com
