Keeps the Momentum Going with New Single “Underground”
Following the successful release of his latest album Remember What You’re Looking For, Marshall Stone is keeping the buzz alive with the launch of his new single, “Underground.”
The album—released last month—has already received positive feedback and growing radio play, driven by the strength of the lead single, “But I Can Smile.” Now, Stone is tapping deeper into his musical roots with “Underground”, a rock-driven track that channels the energy of classic acts like Billy Idol and Foreigner.
“I think back to how I wrote the first songs that I released, and I wanted to write tracks that would complement some of my favorite albums of all time,” Marshall shared. “Writing ‘Underground’ gave me that feeling of wanting to write an 80s song that had punch, incorporating modern elements to give it a life of its own—making your own monster. I love paying tribute to genres that have inspired me, and I’m very happy with how ‘Underground’ turned out.”
The track also showcases the expertise of acclaimed producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton), whose contributions were instrumental in bringing the song to life.
“I came in with the body parts of the song, but I needed a body,” Stone explained. “Kent’s production and guitar riffs came in clutch with allowing this song to breathe and shine. I loved working with him on multiple songs, but this one really stood out to me when it came to the diversity.”
Both “Underground” and the full album Remember What You’re Looking For are available now on all major streaming platforms. Physical releases are also on the way, so fans can soon get their hands on a tangible piece of Marshall Stone’s latest chapter.
