Jesus Chrysler Supercar  – Kamikaze

A Daydream About Hiding Away — and Wanting to Be Found.

Phoenix, AZ – June 24, 2025 — Legendary Arizona alt-rock veterans Jesus Chrysler Supercar are back and louder than ever with “Kamikaze”, a blistering new single that fuses raw power with poetic tragedy. The track delivers a cinematic and unrelenting sonic journey — flipping, twisting, and roaring like a jet engine on its final descent.

Driven by razor-sharp riffs and a thunderous rhythm section, “Kamikaze” dives deep into the haunting legacy of honor-driven sacrifice, told through the eyes of a doomed pilot. Frontman Mitch Steele shares:

“The song has always made me sad. I mean, it’s not a ‘sad’ song, per se — but the Japanese culture places such huge importance on honor. So many of these pilots died for no reason, other than honor. The war was essentially lost by that point. It’s very romantic and tragic.”

Lyrically, “Kamikaze” hits hard:

“Skies are turning red / The sun burns out my eyes / Slip into eternity”

These words capture both the adrenaline and emotional gravity of a mission with no return. As the band shouts “We won’t come back”, the listener is pulled into a visceral, almost spiritual confrontation with legacy, duty, and mortality.

Following the success of their 2024 re-releases and recent singles “Two Sticks (Dynamite)” and “Sludge/Deep Hole”, “Kamikaze” marks a bold new chapter for the band — and sets the stage for their first EP in 25 years.

With the same fire that once lit up stages alongside Deftones, Radiohead, and No Doubt, Jesus Chrysler Supercar isn’t just back — they’re blazing.
