About - Sam Palladio & the new release
British singer-songwriter and actor Sam Palladio returns with his latest single “Burberry Jacket,” a cinematic indie-pop release that draws deeply from the atmosphere and mythology of London. Released via 3686 Records, the track marks his second outing with the Nashville-based label and continues his evolution as a solo artist.
Inspired by the streets, folklore, and dark allure of the capital, “Burberry Jacket” unfolds against the backdrop of Fleet Street, weaving in subtle references to the legend of Sweeney Todd. The result is a vivid portrait of a dangerous, hypnotic love—one that is as seductive as it is destructive. Lines like “Love me to the grave, your beauty could put me in a casket…” capture the song’s intoxicating pull.
Sonically, the track is driven by pulsing basslines, hypnotic drum patterns, and shimmering guitars. Palladio leans into a sleek indie-pop sound, elevated by a distinctive bridge riff inspired by Dire Straits, adding a touch of classic rock texture to the modern production. The result is a track that feels both contemporary and timeless, balancing atmosphere with emotional intensity.
Written by Palladio alongside Phil Barnes and Kendall Goodman, the single also serves as a personal reconnection to his British roots. Despite spending over a decade in Nashville, Palladio channels the essence of London—its fashion, history, and mystique—into a sound that feels distinctly his own.
Many will recognise Palladio from his role as Gunnar Scott on the TV series Nashville, where he became a fan favourite across its six-season run. Since then, he has continued to build a music career that blends indie-pop with Americana and folk influences, collaborating with notable producers including Dave Sardy and Søren Hansen.
Beyond music, his acting credits include appearances in The Princess Switch trilogy, Humans, Episodes, and the biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
Fresh from a run of UK performances and the Nashville: The Encore Tour, Palladio continues to expand his artistic identity. With “Burberry Jacket,” he leans fully into cinematic storytelling and dark romance, delivering a track that feels stylish, immersive, and unmistakably British—while firmly rooted in the modern Nashville sound.
